On-line purchase or purchase in Morocco, any difference ?

Cuff bracelet

Mail-order is interesting when you buy small quantities, for Europe. Delivery costs are much higher when the parcels are sent from Morocco, and we regularly bring back pieces, through a European structure, Lumiere de Lune, established in Germany. Lumiere de Lune imports and clears the jewels through customs. In Europe, or better said, outside of Morocco, you contract with Lumiere de Lune, i.e. a European company, subjected to European and German regulations regarding mail-order sales and consummer regulations.

Nevertheless, the first and most important aim of the Oasis de Mezgarne is to make you discover Morocco, and selling products is just an extra that came from relations with the cooperatives. When you are in Morocco, it is much easier, and more interessant to visit yourself Boutique de bijoux en ligne and purchase its products in Tiznit

What are the prices in Morocco ?

Prices are of course different from the ones given here, on the site, and much lower. The difference comes from transportation, customs, and administrative costs. In Morocco, depending on the work and alloy, prices are between 6 and 15 dirhams the gramme.

I would like to import myself jewels and sale them in Europe

You have the choice between two possibilities : either you are already importer or wholesaler, and it's easier to deal directly with Boutique de bijoux en ligne . They already have customers in Europe and the USa and can deliver large quantities.

Or, if you start this activity, or have never imported goods, it might be easier, for a test, to buy through our European structure, for the first time. You can then, in a second time, deal directly in Morocco, but for a first test, you will have simpler processes.

We make rebates on quantities from 10 identical pieces.

I would like the exclusivity of a model .

Cross from Mauritania

That's possible .

We can gaurantee the exclusivity over a territory (for example a city, a department, a Land). You can also have your own models produced. You own the mold, and the jewels will not be sold to anybody else.

How can I order ?

By mail, through our contact form , and besides each article, a small link sends us a mail. Don't forget to mention reference, quantity, and your address.

What are my guarantees ?

We mention each time whether the silver is with a stamp, and then, what is the alloy. With a stamp, you have tha guarantee of a nickel-free 825 ‰ silver. Our importer is subjected to regulations on mail-order and online sales, and you can return an article you don't like.

One speaks often of "moroccan silver" ?

Moroccan silver embraces alloys of various quality. Often, the silversmith melt together different pieces, including coins, to get their metal. Pieces without a stamp can have a low percentage of silver. That's the reason why we have special fabrication for our pieces, and can be sure that they contain no nickel.

How can I know if a piece is really ancient ?

It is something difficult. Patterns and methods did ot evolve a lot throught the years, and only several indices, like the quality, of of used look the fasteners, can help specialists to make an opinion.

For you, it is better to start from the idea that what you will find in the markets (souks) has only the esthetical value you will give to the piece, and be pleased with you purchase without counting on too good a bargain.

On the other hand, in shops, you have better chances to find beautiful pieces. Take your time, discuss with the vendor, try to know about the history of the piece, how it arrived there. The essential is always to be happy of what you bought!

Why Boutique de bijoux en ligne?

Like the other cooperatives we present on the site of the Oasis de Mezgarne, it started with a simple encounter, a jewel I bought for myself, and the pleasure to discuss with people who knew very well their trade. A relation that grew ...

Of course, there are a lot of jewellers in Tiznit. The Arkhaoui brothers are knowledgeable and serious, they knew how to deisgn our models with a very good taste, and high quality results.

Did children work to produce these pieces ?

Once must distinguish between work and apprenticehip. In Morocco, in craftwork, children start their apprenticeship quite young at the mâalem (master), at the end of primary school, around 10-12 years. This training can happen only at the workshop, there are very few professionnal schools in these fields.

Also, before presenting a cooperative of a workshop, and regularly after, we check that these trainees are actually "in apprenticeship" and are not treated like adult workers :

  • They have finished primary school, and know how to read and write.
  • They work a reasonnable time in the day, not ten hours a day, and still have free time, either to pursue learning with association, or simply to play.
  • They receive a decent wage
  • They are correctly trained and treated.
